My subaru legasy 1996 was overheated. Radiator is cold. Could you tell me what the problem is? ?

My subaru legasy 1996 was overheated. Radiator is cold. Could you tell me what the problem is? Heater works and than was stopped.

Could be the water pump or a stuck thermostat. When the engine is warming up the thermostat is closed not letting the coolant circulate through the radiator, this allows for a fast warm up, the heater will work though. A bad water pump will not circulate
