Has anyone ever used a hydrostatic transmission for a racing lawn mower?

I noticed the pulley is already smaller than a normal transmission meaning you could not make it much faster by changing pulley size.......And would it burn the transmission up ?
No, first you'd need to understand the concept. gear ratio has little affect with the output RPM, as Pump pressure and GPM determine wheel motor output, not so much burning up the hydrostatic pump, you'll just never find one that puts out that many Gallons
