car having problems accelerating after replacing engine?

had a rebuilt engine put in, auto transmission is still under warranty and it shifts and accelerates fine once car gets going, just has a tough time starting after coming to a stop....
how long (miles) does it usually take for everything to sync
it should drive and run good from the start and get better as time goes on,you need to look it over and make sure everything is hooked up right on it,also if a shop done this work have them go back over it and check some things out on it, its possible
