What will cause the housing to break on my starter ? I have a 1994 pontiac firebird formula 350.?

The car is equipped with a 8lb supercharger. Stock it did not have any shims. After I shimmed it, it seemed to work for a bit longer. After time it broke again. Do I need a hi-torque starter? Ive been told that it might be my crankshaft position sensor.

Get a high torque starter. Don't worry about the sensor it won't cause the starter housing to break. It is do to mechanical torque not electric sensor. I had to do this with my 400 small block.
